Pierre, SD, USA / DRGNews Jan 12, 2021 1:38 PM Below is the script of South Dakota Governor Kristi Noem’s 2021 State of the State Address as prepared for delivery January 12, 2021.   Lieutenant Governor Rhoden, Mr. Speaker, members of the Legislature, Chief Justice Jensen, Justices of the Supreme Court, constitutional officers, and fellow South Dakotans, it is my privilege to stand before you today (Jan. 12, 2021) to discuss the state of our state. The year 2020 was one for the history books. We faced some incredible challenges in South Dakota. We met this adversity head on. And the PEOPLE of South Dakota deserve all the credit. People struggled, they lost loved ones, and their livelihoods were threatened. But they never lost hope. They were resilient.

Labor and Economic Opportunity Over $11 million available to fund local apprenticeships in underrepresented populations Proposals due to Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity by Feb. 1 December 18, 2020 LANSING, Mich. The Michigan Department of Labor and Economic Opportunity (LEO) released a competitive Request for Proposals to fund registered apprenticeship expansion across the state. More than $11 million is available to fund grant awards to groups of statewide and/or local partners who will work as Regional Implementation Consortia to expand registered apprenticeship opportunities.  Funds provided by the grant awards will help reimburse Registered Apprenticeship Program costs, including on-the-job learning and related technical instruction. The Consortia will lead expansion activities to accelerate the growth of more than 6,000 apprentices with a focus on underrepresented populations, including youth and veterans in high-skill, high-wage, high-demand careers
